TAE (Gel Buffer)


      50 X TAE (7L stock solution)

      1694 g Tris base
      399.7 ml Glacial Acetic Acid
      700 ml 0.5 M EDTA (pH 8.0)
      ~ 4 L dH2O

      1. Add ~ 4L dH2O, 700ml 0.5M EDTA, and 399.7ml Glacial Acetic Acid on stirrer, then add the 1694g of Tris base slowly to the stirring mixture.
      2. Bring up to the 7L volume mark on container with dH2O.
       

      • If Tris Base added first or too fast it will not dissolve easily.
       
       
      1 X TAE

      Add 40 ml of 50 X TAE to 2L graduated cylinder.
      Bring voume up to 2L with dH2O.
